I often get asked, what is a typical day like for a successful writer such as yourself? I stick to a simple schedule. Every day, I rise with the sun. After a 10 kilometer swim in the Pacific Ocean, I skip back home and make breakfast for my sweetheart. Then I sit down at the computer and write 3 chapters of my novel. At 1:00pm, I go for a chocolate massage. When 4:00pm rolls around, I open the gin and get hammered. I live in beautiful Vancouver, Canada and I love to read and write books! I practice yoga pretty much every day and would eat dim sum for every meal if I could. Oh, I love to bake cupcakes and play board games.

She has degrees in journalism and creative writing, and also has a background in medical and science writing. Her favorite stories are those in which seemingly ordinary characters find themselves in extraordinary situations and succeed in dealing with them, even if they stumble along the way. Tempus House is Cate's first published novel.
