J C Paris
J.C Paris was born in 1983 in Malta and works as a mathematics teacher in a local secondary school. Paris poses questions for a living, both in his work as a teacher and also whilst writing. Questions fascinate him because they shake and crumble prejudices, and, if properly posed, they make mincemeat out of the conservative mind. His hope is that throughout his life, his questions lead to changes of the mind and, more importantly, changes of the heart. In his debut horror collection, Disequilibria (published in 2012), he has set out to explore the relatively uncharted terrain of Philosophical Horror. By 'philosophical' he means a plunge into a warren questions, by 'horror', he means the consequence of asking the ... read more

Emma spent her childhood creating imaginary worlds to compensate for a disappointingly average reality, so it was probably inevitable that she ended up writing speculative fiction.
She was born in Birmingham, UK, which she fled at the first opportunity to study English Literature at Lancaster University. In her three years at Lancaster, she hiked up mountains, skydived in Australia, and endured a traumatic episode involving a swarm of bees in the Costa Rican jungle. From the time I was a child I LOVED books. I can still remember the thrill of being old enough to walk to the library. Though a lot has changed since then, one thing remains the same…I can still walk to a library!
My dad was in the army so we moved a lot. Luckily, I returned to Maryland in time to meet the boy who lived next door to me when I was born. I had moved away when I was four months old. And though family lore has it that we were close as infants, we hadn’t seen each other for seventeen years. When Fate tossed us together, we didn’t recognize each other (understandable), but I did remember my mother mentioning his family. To make a long story short, we started dating, married after colleg ... read more

Her diary was where she could share her inner most thoughts and not be judge whether they made sense or not.
After Gina became a mother, she realized that she couldn't teach her children to let their voices be heard, if she didn't set the example. She continued to listen but gradually added her two cents. Through these interactions, Gina learned that she wanted more for her four children and herself.
