I was born in the tiny town of Campbell River, B.C. and grew up a child of missionary parents in East Africa. From an early age I discovered a love of reading and shortly thereafter discovered a joy and talent for writing. By the time I reached high school I was writing for fun and slowly getting interested in both reading and writing romance. My first published novel was written back in 2009 and it took a little convincing to try getting it published. I live in Ontario with my husband, young daughter and two cats. I love Canada. Because of my love for this great country, most of my stories are based here.

I am a proud independent author who believes in producing a good product. I think it's important to consult experts in editing and formatting, as well as in graphic design. My stuff is slightly pricier because I do invest financially in my work - I don't think publishing something independently is an excuse to produce junk and I am not here to sell you something that is not worth your money. I take time - months if not years - to produce a book. It is not done overnight and I am not flooding the market with pieces full of errors. I strive to produce a great product and I want to restore the good name of true Independent Authors everywhere.

I love having the ability to put my thoughts into words for readers to enjoy. Other writers have always been my inspiration, starting back when I picked up my first romance novel. Many romance and women's fiction authors inspire me to keep my eyes on my goal.
My writing consists of sensual and spicy contemporary western romance/ women's fiction. My Characters don't always have an easy time getting what they want, but their reward is sweet.

My latest book which is on Amazon as a Kindle book is also listed here as a free read for ebooks. The Story of James follows James Varnas, a teen whose dad and brother are local, small time gang members. He lives in a New England community of faith and through the violent actions of the gang to which his dad belongs,James unexpectidy is thrown into the lives of the very Christian families his dad and brother hate. This story was written before the film was announced, but is told in the general spirit of the film The Last Ounce of Courage. It's a story of hope, courage, forgiveness and redemption, An excellent read for teens and adults of faith.

After an exhilarating, collaborative writing project, Lori L. Otto had an idea for an original novel. The characters and their rich stories would keep her awake at night, and even with barely any sleep, she felt more alert and alive than she had in years. Her days off were spent in cafés, sandwich shops and bookstores, feverishly trying to get all of the details out of her head and onto paper.
In the spring of 2009, after a few months of writing, Lori decided to tweak one chapter from the novel-in-progress and enter it as a short story into the 78th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. In the fall when the winners were announced, she was happily awarded an Honorable Mention, placing 40th in the Ma ... read more
