More interesting were the Arthurian legends, Greek myths, and when I learned about them, Indian and Chinese mythology. As an historian I was able to put each in context, understand it all from a literary and psychological as well as an historical standpoint. My joy as a writer is to put all those elements together in a story or an arc of stories.
