The nineteen stories by nine authors in this anthology were sent to me in one month, but are as varied as their writers. The stipulation was that Asia or an Asian had to feature strongly.. She did not expect to do anything any different from the other girls in her class in the village, but circumstances changed suddenly and she had to go to work in Pattaya, where she drifted into the sex industry. Stepping Stones picks up the story of Lek, her family and friends in the village of Baan Suay four years on from where The Lady in The Tree finished. Lek and Ayr are still looking to expand, but especially Lek's career in the political arena, where she finds evidence of disturbing activity.
