Out There

The world is running out of water and Sami's father has disappeared. Everything is bad. Then everything changes. Brian, alien from the planet Adonae, arrives and becomes Sami's only friend. When the government orders the aliens rounded up, Sami and her frenemy, Alejandro, save Brian. But they need to get him back to Adonae, while running from police, parents, and a very dangerous goon.

Sami and Alejandro follow Brian to Adonae, a world of islands, pirates, and amazing technology. Now she is the alien. But her real danger is KetaNim, ambassador from TiWat, who wants her executed. While he plots, Sami and Alejandro become apprentices. She learns to be a “reader of people," he a “ master of the rope." They will need these skills and more to keep KetaNim from having their heads.

Sami and Alejandro escape to TiWat, a forest world filled with carnivorous plants and warring clans, run by the cruel SimSimKeta. Hiding in the endless caverns of another world deep inside the mountains, Sami discovers the Svaash... and her father, alive but apparently brain dead. She also learns of SimSim's plan to invade Earth. Sami must escape TiWat to warn us of the coming attack.

Sami finds Paradise, Arizona, abandoned. Water shortages forced everyone into big cities. She crosses the desert to Phoenix, but KetaNim is already there, paving the way for the invasion. Worse, SimSim's forces are near, and Sami’s father is a hostage. Sami, Alejandro and a gang of kids have only hours. Sami will need everything she has learned to save her father...and avert a global catastrophe.
