Relative Summer Trilogy

The long awaited third book of the relative summer trilogy is finally here. It is the summer of 1978 and eleven year old twins Nigel and Michael have been asked to be ushers at their university lecturer aunt's wedding. This gives them an unforgettable first look inside the sometimes quite strange worlds of weddings, academia and university life. There are big rabbits and an even bigger dress.

Ten year old twin boys Nigel and Michael are treated to a week's holiday exploring the English waterways in a narrowboat. The rest of the family come along and make sure that the summer of 1977 will never be forgotten.

Nine year old Nigel's twin brother is knocked down by a car just before the long hot summer holiday of 1976. With his parents busy at the hospital, Nigel has to spend his summer with elderly grandparents and an eccentric aunt. He learns about life in WWII, that there is more to hunting rabbits than making a noise like a lettuce and that not all railway stations are called "Gentlemen" or "Way Out".
