After locating the missing brother of a work colleague that makes news headlines, Harriet is contacted by a Government Official to try and locate his wife who has mysteriously disappeared whilst on safari in East Africa.
Harriet finds and old blackened brooch at a garage sale. After cleaning it, it turns out to be of intricate design and discovers that it belonged to Henry VIII. A wrongful conviction to a young house boy for stealing the brooch centuries later spurs Harriet to discover the full truth behind it.
Approached by a property developer, Harriet investigates why a derelict old building has a Heritage Listing on it. Closer examination unravels a web of lies, deceit and corruption that threaten not only Harriet but others that she gets involved in assisting her.
At the request of her new romantic friend Jack, Harriet is engaged to investigate some unusual discrepancies within the dealer networks of the major telecommunications companies. What transpires is a web of secret and clandestine dealings that affect a number of innocent people.
