The Glowing Hours
by Marina Oliver
Three girls, escaping from difficult homes, meet because of their love of dancing. Nell, Gwyneth and Kitty join chorus lines in 1920s Music Halls, and dance all over the English Midlands. Then they have the chance of appearing at Paris's Folies Bergère, but malign fate intervenes before they can go. And there is Andrew, Kitty's cousin, Timothy, languid aristocrat, and Paul, charismatic doctor.
