All bar the last of these is set in Central Australia circa the early 1950’s.
The first story, “A Ring For Angelina”, is actually a love story, but is included here because its two conclusions, separated in time, both involve a celebration of Christmas.
“Christmas Day At The Sweet Angel Mine” describes a diabolical plot, hatched well prior to the twenty fifth and carried out on the dark and moonless eve of its anniversary.
In “The Best Of Christmas Presents”, a couple of Northern Territory old timers are forced by circumstance into a day or so of total inactivity, with little to do but eat, sleep and reminisce...
And “The Three Wizened Men” tells of some little known goings-on which happened to take place at the same time as those momentous events in a certain manger … and even came to mesh with them briefly.
