Rose is hesitant, and a follower, unlike her stepdaughter, Janice, who takes after her father. The girl is confident, and thinks she can talk her way out of anything. When school security is about to turn up, because she had played truant for the past three weeks, her mother panics. Janice is supposed to go for an interview for a part time position with a prestigious advertising agency. Her art work should get her in, but she has to go to school, and a day off is out of the question. Janice talks her mother into swapping roles. Knowing how the girl could talk her way out of the fix, she reluctantly agrees.
Little do they realise how the small mistake will change their lives. Not only do they play act, but they have to change their ages, in a complete role reversal. The mother becomes the child, and the daughter becomes the parent. All authority and control in the home shifts to the daughter, away from the mother. When Janice has to spank her mother, she defines their new relationship.
