What do an undercover cop and a drug lord’s pet psychic have in common? Brian Kerr uses his Finding talent to hunt enemies for a dangerous criminal. He survives by pretending he's too simpleminded to know what he's doing. Nick Rugo's job is to stop the drug dealer, and at first, he sees Brian as just a pawn to be played. But shared secrets may put them on the same side, if they live long enough.

Brian can Find a lost child or a wanted criminal. Now he's finally free of his dangerous boss and domineering brother, and he's eager to start using his Talent to help people. It's challenging, though, with his dyslexia, and the way he acts simple-minded under stress. Nick wants to help, but his own lies may come back to haunt him, and he's afraid he won't be able to protect the man he cares for.

An ex-cop and a psychic on the mend find their safe haven threatened by vandalism, arson, and the shadow of their dangerous past. After overusing his Talent till he almost died, Brian just wants a quiet job on the farm, with Nick to come home to. But Nick's at loose ends with no real work, and a nagging worry that old enemies may be after Brian. He's keeping his eyes open and his gun loaded.
