An Anthony Carrick Mystery

First Feature is a bitingly wry detective whodunit featuring ex-LAPD's not so celebrated detective Anthony Carrick as he juggles mafia lords, drug addled neophytes, nymphomaniacs, gay counterculture, vegan hippies and tinsel town's dark side in a quest to uncover a homicide in the midst of his own personal turmoil.

Money ain’t nothing if you’ve got a lot of it. But then again, a lot of money won’t necessarily buy happiness either. In this Anthony Carrick mystery, hard boiled detective Anthony Carrick is asked to solve the murder of a rich dame’s son. Police think it’s an accidental death, but could it be something more sinister?

Brotherly Love is An Anthony Carrick mystery. There's a small park in the tony Holmby Hills, not far from Beverly Hills, called De Neve Square Park, where a man (Ray Hope) lies dead. Capt. John Robers of the LAPD Homicide Unit is investigating and he calls in his old friend, Anthony Carrick to help.

Anthony Carrick is asked to help his friend, John Roberts, Captain of LAPD's Homicide Unit in solving a mysterious murder. A well dressed middle aged man is found with a gunshot in the middle of his forehead in a less than classy hotel. On the victim is one thousand dollars, a casino chip and a New York Giants' Super Bowl ring that obviously doesn't belong to him.

A leisurely morning at the Santa Monica Pier turns out to be not all Anthony Carrick had hoped for. Police arrive and start putting up tape and crowds gather like vultures. A young man has been murdered, washed up under the pier like a beached whale. What seems like a second chance has ended as a dead end for Gregg Gelvan, a kid from the wrong side of the tracks.

The Big Apple has a rotten core. At least to those involved in the New York Philharmonic. Paul Klee, their rising star and first violin has gone missing. A rich benefactor of the philharmonic has asked for Anthony Carrick by name and will spare no expense to fly him over from LA. Anthony Carrick doesn’t usually do missing persons, but when Klee winds up dead, the case becomes more interesting.

The Windy City, Chicago, is holding the World Series at Wrigley Field. An exceptionally rare World Series between the Loveable Losers (Chicago Cubs) and The Birds (Baltimore Orioles) with the Cubs favorited to win. Until, that is, their star pitcher James Ensor is found dead by third base.

In the midst of Hollywood elite, Anthony Carrick has to uncover the killer or killers of not one, not two but three murders. Could they all be related? A beautiful young actress is found floating in her pool after a party of debauchery. It looks like an accidental overdose until her friend dies mid-scene in front of hundreds while performing in the play A Streetcar Named Desire.
