Bene's family is scattered as Lodestok, the Warlord, with his army of warriors, storms across Ambros. These children struggle to survive what seem impossible odds in a now unrecognisable and torn apart world. Can any force be brought together to confront the Warlord? And can a place of mythology, Ice Isle, offer one child help as she faces her destiny?

Destiny calls for Ambros. The children, who hold the balance of this world, gather in the north. Confrontation looms. Battle lines are drawn. War is inevitable. Ochleos Rox's prophecy begins to fulfil itself though Malekim can still pervert it. And other beings stir, restless.

Ambros inches slowly towards the balance spoken of by Ochleos Rox. Forces can still destabilise a world struggling for eqilibrium. The chaos Malekim sought reaches across much of Ambros, but light does begin to dance on this world through the still heavy shadows. The bonding that will bring peace and stability has begun.

Ambros edges away from the chaos Malekim began. The children of Melas fulfil Ochleos Rox's prophecy so equilibrium can return. They start a metamorphosis and evolution that will alter themselves and the reality of their world as they move into a new age. Worlds allied with Ambros move with them. And Malekim? Where is he?

The flames lit by Lodestok and Malekim, that brought the world of Ambros to chaos and grief, still flicker. But Ambros moves steadily and slowly to balance. The flames that consumed the world begin to die and the children upon whom so much depends begin to come to an understanding of who and what they are and their significance. And the warriors must let this world rest. A new order must come.

Life on Ambros has reached a critical point. A confrontation has occurred with unexpected and serious consequences. The decisive battle between those gathered in the north and the Warlord's army draws very close. Even though other beings and creatures not of Ambros are active, the balance could go either way as Ambros teeters on the brink.

The malevolent Malekim will destroy Ambros as he seeks ancient quarry. A very old Archmage, Bene, confronts him - it's his family who hold the balance.
