On the shadow side of the planet Phant, the Draige King Rediekiel is summoned by Regen, a peculiar little girl who happens to be the incarnation of the goddess Laki. Unwilling (and unable) to return to his life and his kingdom, Rediekiel places himself between Regen and the fire Dith Gleachel, the incarnation of the dark goddess Daki. But how can he fight a magic surpassing time and space?

A story told across multiple points in time, Starborn follows the early world incarnations of Illaile and Radael as they attempt to deal with the dread sorcerer Dhalcerus. Their later incarnations and their group of exiles now must seek to save the world or find a way to leave it, never certain who their real enemies actually are.
