Sebastian Big John La Rocca was crime boss in Pittsburgh from 1956 until 1978. He succeeded Frank Amato of Braddock, Pennsylvania as head of organized crime in the steel city. It is uncertain whether Big John attended the 1957 Apalachin meeting in upstate New York because he took the 5th Amendment each time he was questioned before a Senate committee on the subject. La Rocca died in December 1984.
