Dick Hutcherson's specialty was dirt track racing. He got his first experience on the short tracks in the midwest before joining the NASCAR circuit in 1964. Hutcherson won the 1967 Dixie 500 and was among the top money winners in the three years that he raced in the Grand National division. He retired in 1968 to take a management job with Holman-Moody. He later went into business for himself.

Tiny Lund was most successful as a driver in NASCAR's Grand American Series. He won 41 races overall as a driver in this division. In four different years Tiny won the Grand American Series overall title. His Grand National Division cars were largely underfunded although he drove for some elite owners like Bud Moore, Buck Baker and Lee Petty. Lund was killed tragically in a 1975 race at Talladega.

Lorenzen, from Elmhurst, Illinois, was a different type of driver than the good ol boys on the NASCAR circuit. Racing weighed on his nerves and he later retired because of an ulcer. His dominance of supers speedway races was phenomenal. He retired in 1967 and became a crew chief.
