Marie Prevost rose from a bit player in a mob scene in a Mack Sennett produced comedy to become the lead actress of numerous silent films from the mid to late 1920s. My research has uncovered facts from ancestry records and newspaper clippings that fill in the blanks of many events in her short life. Tragically Marie's decline was a precipitous one, which ruined her health and left her dead at 38.

She relished the brisk life of vaudeville, the new towns and settings, the different people she met along the way, etc. However, she realized that she would not become a great dancer. She left the stage and her ballet troupe and made it big as a leading lady in early silent and sound movies.

Hitchcock Lost focuses on the story behind the lost silent Hitchcock, The Mountain Eagle and the remarkable, unmade project of the late 60s known as Kaleidoscope or Frenzy. The two film serve as anchor points in a career so rich in realized projects that their absence tantalizes like the green haze of desire Scottie's desire evokes at the Empire Hotel.
