I wrote a short poem briefly touching over some issues I have with our society. These issues are mostly on my personal views but they're close to my heart and I strongly support them. I believe if people stop following and living such a "cookie cutter" lifestyle and mentality, they'll be able to see the world isn't so black and white. Life is complex and so are our problems. Enjoy.

'January Embers' is the culmination of over a decade of obsessive writing. These evocative, powerful poems have an almost tangible grace; the author adroitly deals with pain, anger and mental illness, but, above all, the spine is hope. 'January Embers' is not without humor; 'Edgar And I' dares you not to smile. Kristen Varwig's debut is a must-read for the sophisticated and casual reader alike.

Poetry is a place to meet. We all have a table here waiting for us. We talk, laugh, and metaphor our way through verse like intimate conversations. In our hands are the mugs matching the personalities wide and varied, they are our hearts. In them - filled to the brim - is our ink. This addictive fluid is drank slowly as we read or it's splashed down on paper. So sit and drink the ink with me.

The belief that everything happens for a reason just might be wrong. Perhaps some things happen serendipitously like walking into the street and being hit by a car, or walking into the street and not being hit by a car. It’s not always guided by some finger appearing out of the sky and with a deep Charlton Heston voice saying, “Don’t walk into the street!” Sometimes an ant is crushed...
Heart of Stone: A Picture Book by Marjorie Dodge

Heart of Stone: A Picture Book is composed of poems that are visual as well as verbal. They are poems that speak the universal heart, mind and soul. The poems are introduced in metaphor by the title poem, "Heart of Stone", as individual prisms carved by living rivers of intuition, and hidden within the heart of an impassive granite mountain (the poet).

By Rachael Alston. Written as a rebellion against the traditional love novels and mainstream movies. Ms. Alston did not feel that these forms of media accurately depicted how love plays out in real life. This book is a way of her expressing her inner child and showing society a different way real love can look.

A Crooked Shadow is one of the tales from the collection Five Old Wives' Tales. “Five Old Wives’ Tales” is a delightfully light collection of poetic literature to have as an accompaniment. Each tale is cleverly written and filled with wit; nostalgic in style, with a contemporary twist, relative to the times in which we live in.
