Reviews of Where Lions Roar at Night by Rosie Boom

I’ve just finished reading Rosie’s book Where Lions Roar At Night. I’m a Kiwi home schooling mum with two daughters. Our family lives and works in China. I had intended to preview the book to see if it was suitable to read aloud to my girls. I became engrossed with the story and soon found myself laughing and crying as the Boom adventure unfolded. I usually like to read books aloud to my girls before I know what is going to happen so I can experience the emotion with them. The only exception to that rule is when I read them my old favorites. Maybe I’ll have to start a new category for this one – new favorites! Makes me want to head home to my Dad’s NZ farm ! A good wholesome read!

I loved this book. I'm a homeschool mom and I read it in a couple nights of reading. Now I'm planning on reading it to our four boys. Love the stories, the homesteading, great book!

It was okay. Based on the other reviews I was expecting more and was rather disappointed.

Full of laughs and dramas, this book is hard to put down! For children of all ages and also the parents who read it aloud, Where Lions Roar at Night is compulsive reading!! Readers will finish this book feeling inspired to take the opportunites that present themselves to make their own lives as exciting and fulfilling as the Boom family's. They will also be inspired to buy the sequels and find out what happens next...

What a pleasure to have a book that my reluctant reader son eagerly picked up! Rosie's book made a world of difference to him. Finally he had a story to inspire him to achieve reading skills. I would read some and then leave him in suspense but he had the option to read more himself. Where Lions Roar at Night is the book that got my son reading with confidence. Thanks for the inspiring words that have led to reading success.

Great farm fun and adventure! I have always wanted to live on a farm, and this book inspired me to take up horse-riding. I could read this book over and over again without getting bored! Each time I read it, it always sends a shiver of adventure up my spine! I recommend this book for all ages.

This book is a treasure! One of those books that, while reading aloud to your children, you realise that they will one day want to read it to their own children. This book - actually, the whole Barn Chronicles series - will stand the test of time. Such a wonderful true story and so beautifully written. Our whole family delights in this book.
