Reviews of Frank The Friendly Ogre by Victoria Zigler

Rosemary J. Peel reviewed on July 21, 2015

An enjoyable short story about an ogre who doesn't fit in. I found it surprising actually because it had some similarities to my own story, The Earth Giant; both deal with the loneliness of being different. I have no hesitation at all in recommending it to readers. I award it 5 well deserved stars.

A very short, but perfectly formed, story about an ogre who doesn't fit in. Whilst it is a tale for children, it carries a simple and important message about belonging that it doesn't hurt to be reminded of as an adult, either!

Ah, a short and very sweet story for kids. Reinforces the message that belonging is not, as we are led to believe, about location, location, location, but about people (well, ok, ogres and giants!). I think children would love it and would want to read / hear more.

Given To Me For An Honest Review

This book is a great children's book. Victoria Zigler does a great job with the pictures and writing. It uses simple words and it is easy to read and understand. I gave it 5 stars. Children will love it and first time readers will love to be able to read it. I highly recommend it to all.

Short and sweet, with fewer than a thousand words Zigler paints a lovely picture of compassion and friendship.

This is a very good story. It goes to show that being accepted can be difficult, but there is usually a place for everyone.

This little story is perfect for when your children (or even you) are feeling in a 'Nobody Loves Me', or, 'I Don't Like Them' mood, just to be reminded that Someone, Somewhere, is a friend.
