Reviews of Human Intelligence by Klaus Marre

VirtualFriend reviewed on March 25, 2021

I read this book even though this is not a standard genre for me, and I am very glad that I did. Long before I reached the end I knew that it was a book I would be thinking about for a long time.
One of the best parts was the character development. Very few of the political thrillers which I have read in the past do such a good job. Even the minor characters are memorable.
Years have passed since the author wrote this book, so I hope he has another project in progress. Once he publishes another, I would certainly buy it.
Until then, I have enjoyed reading Marre's nonfiction, some of which is available elsewhere online.
Highly recommend.

You can tell Klaus Marre was a reporter in DC - what a very intelligent, gripping thriller! Every sentence was well written, too. Without trying to give any clues..I would advise readers who have to break up their reading into chunks to do so up to about page 100 - then get an evening and binge-read the rest! That's what I'd do the next time if not all in one go! Prepare for some suspenseful roller coaster surprises! I wish I could give it a 6 start review :)

One of the best stories I've read at Smashwords, it's exceptional. Thank you Mr. Marre. I highly recommend it. The editing isn't perfect but the errors are not major and don't detract from the reading pleasure. The story is unique and well told.

Human Intelligence is a gem. The plot is complex and the conflict is never ending. A truly great piece of fiction that made me feel good at the end.

This book is fantastic--a very prescient, suspenseful national-security thriller that takes you from the halls of power in Washington, D.C. to the far reaches of terrorist hideouts and everywhere in between.

Klaus Marre depicts all of this skillfully, with compelling characters and a masterful plot. If you're a fan of "Homeland" or "Zero Dark Thirty," you will be drawn into this book until you've finished reading the last word.

Human Intelligence is a good title for this book for many reasons, one of which is that it's an intelligently written book, in addition to being a can't-put-it-down thriller. I loved it! Beautifully crafted, fantastic plot twists, amazing planning. The authors research was thorough. I'm like another reviewer; I hate it when an author messes up details on a location I know well. I finished this in less than a day, because I couldn't put the thing down! It's well worth whatever it costs! Buy it. Support this author. Hope that he keeps writing, because he is GOOD!
