Teton travel has been beautiful to us for the past four years as my wife and I have been blessed to be able to do so. I have purchased the book recently, read it and plan on carrying it along in two weeks as we again try to explore the beauty of God's creation. Jeff, the author, has made it abundantly simple to plan a short or long stay. Now, with a great group of tips in hand, anticipation for even better photo's fills my head. GREAT WORK Mr. Clow. The book has my seal of approval----for what that is worth. f8 and be there!!!

The BEST $10 I've ever spent on my photography.

I knew nothing about the Grand Tetons other than it was a great place to go for wildlife and landscape photography. I heard about Jeff Clow via a friend who had taken part in one of his guided tours. Googling his name, I came across this eBook.

Jeff's layout and flow of his book is perfect for either following front-to-back or for picking and choosing where and what to do. His recommendations on lenses, views, and times for the best image creation is spot on.

If you are going to the Grand Tetons, this is an absolute MUST purchase - for all levels of photographer or lover of nature.

Jeff's photographs of the Tetons and areas around Banff, Alberta, Canada are so enchanting they break my heart! I enjoy each and every posting by Jeff on his Flickr site and have become a dedicated fan of his.

Having visited the Tetons only once, I was so captivated I vowed to return again and again. My only regret is that I did not have this book prior to that initial visit in order to make better use of the limited time I had there. Having Jeff's book as a guide will exponentially improve my chances of bringing home the shots I envision for future visits.

Jeff is very generous in sharing information about otherwise unknown locations and times of day for optimum shooting. His images are a bonus and provide not only viewing pleasure but a standard of excellence and beauty for which I hope one day to attain.

As a self-taught photographer, it is through reading that I learn and I am very grateful to Jeff and Smashwords for publishing this beautifully written book. My hope is that Jeff has future books in mind, I know I will be in line to purchase them! Highly recommended, I wholeheartedly give this book the highest rating!

I have had the distinct pleaseure of meeting Jeff on one of his Tetons photography trips. He knows the area like the back of his hand. His book certainly conveys his love for, and knowledge of the area. This book gets you in he right places to take better photographs by providing you the tools to go right to the most iconic areas. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it whole heartedly.

I first came across Jeff's work through the magic of flickr and was astonished at the beauty and variety of his photographs. He's also a thoughtful and friendly contact in flickr, always willing to share advice and praise. I'm sure his images of the park were my primary motivation for deciding to visit Grand Tetons for the first time last fall. And they are calling to me again.

I had only a vague idea of the places to visit and photograph on that first trip, and after reading the book cover-to-cover in one day, I now know what I missed! Jeff's writing style is friendly and conversational, but he leaves out no detail - from where to stay and eat, to when to visit each place to catch the best light. He also scatters in technical advice about lenses, aperture, DOF, tripods, etc. The only thing I found lacking was the omission of any maps. I think it would have been a simple matter to scan in a few maps of the general area, with more detailed area maps for the photo destinations (but what do I know - I've never written an e-book....)

I downloaded the Kindle version which will be handy to have on my Kindle the next time I visit, but you can also read the Kindle version on your PC/laptop and have the benefit of being able to enjoy Jeff's breathtaking images in wonderful living color!

So far, all reviewers are in unison in rating this a 5-star book. It's thoroughly researched, well written and a must-have whether you're just an armchair traveller or planning your next trip.

I met Jeff through Flickr and Texas Photo Forum (now Pixtus) and hit it off with him immediately. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of accompanying him on each tour he has had so far to the Tetons and each of them has been unique and filled with information about the area and the history of it.

Even though I had been there several times and knew Jeff personally, I purchased his book anyway. Sure, I may have gone to most of the places in his book but there were many many little nuggets of information that I either missed or was too busy to hear while I was being blown away by the beauty of the area.

Here's the real reason to buy this book... it keeps you from wasting your time! If you go to Jackson Hole, rent a car, and venture out on your own, you'll be able to hit some sights and maybe even see some wildlife if you're lucky. But you'll barely be able to come across 10% of what is in Jeff's book. It's a total time saver and what's $10?!!! You can't even get a bison burger at Dornan's for $10... what's Dornan's?... oh, it's in the book. If you want to do it all own your own and want to waste your time... then this book isn't for you. If you want to maximize your time and know exactly where to go and when to go there to get the best images possible, this book is exactly what you need! You're wasting time still reading this review... just buy the book already!

I have been a big fan of Jeff's on Flickr for nearly 6 years now. As far as I'm concerned Jeff is as Grand as the Grand Tetons! He is a true craftsman, artist, photographer and one of the nicest people that I've met on Flickr. I hope that this is just the first of many books that Jeff writes as he has much more to share, I'm sure, about photography. This book is like a huge gold nugget for landscape and wildlife photographers interested in photographing the Grand Tetons. After 10 years of shooting in this park Jeff knows all the angles, all the ins and outs. In his conversational way Jeff shares the best locations, positions ("... get down low!"), f-stops, times of day, and places to eat while enjoying the view. I've already read this book three times and it's given me an even greater appreciation for Jeff's work and dedication to his craft. Unfortunately I live in Japan and will probably not be able to visit the Grand Tetons anytime soon. However, I hope that someday I'll be able to visit and Jeff's book will be my guide!

I have long been a fan of Jeff's on Flickr. I learned about his book not from him, but from a mutual photographer friend, Deby. I immediately bought the book so I could read it on my trip to Glacier (I know -- the book is about the Tetons, not Glacier, but that's where I was going at the time). This book does what a lot of photographers won't do -- it gives away secrets! It's a wonderful guide not only to where to shoot, but also has tips on how and when to shoot each special scene. It's filled with beautiful color photos Jeff has taken. (Warning: I love my Kindle, but am so glad I didn't get that version of the book -- those photos deserve to be shown in full color!) Jeff is a great photographer and is also a kind and generous commenter on Flickr. I feel lucky to be in his list of contacts and luckier still that I have his book. Can't wait to go to the Tetons to try out all his wonderful suggestions!

I’ve been familiar with Jeff Clow’s outstanding photography through Flickr for many years now. Not only is Jeff a highly-skilled photographer, but he has a more elusive quality that shines through in image after image…what Jeff has is heart, and plenty of it. And now we discover that Jeff is not only a photographer of the highest caliber, he is also a terrific writer.

In this book Jeff does indeed give away many secrets about how he achieved his outstanding results. Jeff’s jaw-dropping images speak for themselves but then he goes ahead and tells you exactly how he did it in clear, easy-to-follow and detailed steps. It’s like having your best friend take you on a personal tour, gleefully sharing insights and secrets it’s taken him years to learn…and your best friend just happens to be a professional photographer!

I think a wide range of photographers would find this book invaluable. From the amateur on a family outing, to the professional photographer looking to add some classic landscape and captivating wildlife images to his or her portfolio…all would be more than pleased with this book. Even if you don’t plan on going to the Tetons, I’d still buy this book as I think it gives invaluable insight into many aspects of photography that anyone could learn from. And the photographs are just downright inspiring!

Knowing Jeff’s kind and sharing nature through Flickr, I’m quite confident that Jeff has held nothing back in this handy guide. And by the way, maybe do yourself a favor and have a look through Jeff’s work on Flickr…if following Jeff’s advice in this book can result in photographs that are a fraction as good as his, I think it’s money very well-spent.

Jeff Clow is a consummate photographer as well as a great writer. His photos on flickr have always amazed and inspired me. Just seeing the photos in the book is worth the price. But I recommend you also visit his flickr photo account.
You will quickly see that he is a master photographer who has intimate knowledge of the Grand Tetons
