On Sept. 12, 2002, a retired FBI agent shot a young woman and another man, then took his own life. Both the killer and the young woman had been in the World Trade Center a year and a day earlier. There was no information about their relationship, if any, or his motive. Ken Kaye's fourth novel imagines those characters and the events that changed them.
