In 1819, a full rigged Indiaman of American registry, wrecks on Cape Hatteras, “Graveyard of the Atlantic”. Only a half-drowned infant is left with life enough for saving. From this comes a struggle for survival in an orphanage as a “foundling” of unknown origin. Seeking only to establish a slot for himself in orphan hierarchy, he becomes an innocent victim of lies and intrigue.
