Cedar waxwings are a regal bird with excellent manners. Unlike many other birds it shares food with its companions and keeps its feathers neat and sleek. It has sometimes been mistaken for a molting robin, especially when an observer compares the similarity of the calls of the respective birds. A robin is a larger bird, however, as cedar waxwings are not much larger than sparrows.
