Ebola Strikes Again
by Will Anthony, Jr
In dealing with the Ebola virus, we don’t ask how big the virus is but how small it is. The viruses are measured in nanometers which 1 nm is one billionth of a meter, which is 1/1,000,000,000. That poses the question, how many of these viruses can fit into this dot (.)? The average length of the virus is 970 nm that is 0.000000970 meter, and has a diameter of 80 nm or 0.000000080 meter.
