Listening to the Mirror

When we want to be like someone, we say we want to mirror them. If you want to mirror someone, you must listen to them. How often do you see children with the same mannerisms and speech patterns as the parents? They are mirroring them because of their love and respect for them. Thus, the title, Listening to the Mirror. But how do you listen, especially if the person lived 2000 years ago?
