“INJUNS! INJUNS! INJUNS!” The man screamed at the top of his lungs. “Injuns attacking!"
It was September 3, 1862, in the bustling pioneer town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
By nightfall the town would be an armed fortress filled with terrified defenders.
And the area's last remaining Indian family would be planning to move away.
All because of a rumor.
