The Blue Grotto
by William Olson
An American with literary aspirations travels to Italy in search of inspiration. He arrives at the Isle of Capri with little money to his name and only a rudimentary command of the language.
On the island, he befriends a local man, Guido, with whom he exchanges English lessons for a room with a cot. The two develop a friendship that is finally tested by the lust they share for the same woman.
