Bill Spivey Kentucky All-American
by Robert Grey Reynolds, Jr
Bill Spivey was a Warner-Robbins, Georgia 7-footer who starred for the Kentucky Wildcats for two seasons from 1949-1951. Along with Shelby Linville he was the finest player on Adolph Rupp's teams that advanced to the quarter finals of the NIT Championship (1950) and won the NCAA basketball championship vs. Kansas State in March 1951. Spivey's banishment continued to plague him as a professional.
