CASE 666 - Travesty of Justice
by Bob McCarthy
Published: August 1, 2013.
Of 58 women condemned to death since Confederation, only 11 were executed. Only one of those hanged, Elizabeth Workman, received a recommendation of clemency from the jury involved.
Unanswered to this date is the question of why Elizabeth Workman remains as the sole exception to the acceptance of the recommendation for mercy in the case of women sentenced to execution here in Canada.
