In the early 1990s, Martin Gold, a New York City psychiatrist, reinvents his medical practice for those he classifies as artists. As Martin counsels his diverse and talented patients, he hopes to keep them directed toward their artistic pursuits. With a goal to be a patron of the arts, he opens three 'factories.' His behavior comes into question and a life-changing decision must be made.
