Winter in July (The Doomsday Clock is Ticking; it Will Reach Midnight)
by James W. Nelson
Kirby Yates, 40, meets Lisa, the woman of his dreams. She's a firebrand when it comes to preventing nuclear war. She and Kirby meet and immediately are in conflict. His job requires him to be "somewhat" pro-nuclear, a fact he doesn't share with Lisa. She gets the job of curator at his hometown underground museum, which in truth is a monstrous bomb shelter. Conflict of interest would cost her job.
