Evel Knievel The Snake River Canyon Jump
by Robert Grey Reynolds, Jr
Evel Knievel was in the limelight as a motorcycle stuntman for about eight years between 1967 and 1975. During this period his legend grew throughout the U.S. and worldwide. One night he was drinking at a bar in Montana and was gazing at a photo of the Grand Canyon. He told some people he was drinking with that he was going to jump the Grand Canyon. The U.S. government refused to allow him though.
