A Matter of Logic
by Mario V. Farina
Hal was insufferable, always bragging about himself. Everything was a matter of logic, he claimed and I was not able to refute this. There was a robbery at a motel where we were staying and he and I were suspects. But Hal knew who had stolen the money, he said. It was the mistress! Nonsense, I claimed, no proof. Oh, how I wished he could be proved wrong one time! Had that one time come?
