Zambezi Cavalcade is the story of the Zambezi River and the many visitors who have travelled its waters or settled by its banks, from the earliest riverside kingdoms and Muslim traders to the first tourist at the end of the 19th century.
In 1608 two African princes went to live with a Portuguese family in the town of Tete on the Zambezi River. This is their story, also that of the lost Mines of Chikova, one of Africa's abiding mysteries, told against the backdrop of a wild and beautiful continent at war. The tales is told both by the princes themselves, and by those they met on their amazing journey.
