The Great Flag Flap
by William Olson
‘The Great Flag Flap’ describes a nickel-plated bald eagle’s confrontation with the legacy of racism embodied in his high school’s flag. The eagle is a popular student-athlete at Rebel High, and he leverages this popularity to demand the retirement of the shameful symbol.
The cloistered community that is home to Rebel High refuses, though, to heed the eagle's admonitions.
