The Leticia Conflict -- South American Air War

The South American sub-continent has been the scene of many armed conflicts in the 20th Century involving air power. The Leticia Conflict in 1932 between Colombia and Peru was the first in which air power played roles of some importance though this was not fully realized until the cessation of hostilities leading Peru to form a proper air force with which has been maintained to this day.
