Crunchy Peanuts

Crunchy Peanuts is a dark and bitter booklet. It contains a couple of tough nuts to crack, but also a few marshmallows and simple sandwiches. At the center of the nuts are anger, hurt, protest and disappointment, all suffocating behind cling film until released here.

About Angelina Souren

I am a geologist and marine biogeochemist, but those are only a few labels. I didn't enrol in earth sciences until I was in my mid-twenties, for example and used to work in tourism and hospitality in Amsterdam before that.

I was a board member of national science-related organizations in my native the Netherlands such as the Environmental Chemistry (and Toxicology) section of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society.

I have written on various topics in civil engineering, geochemistry, environmental chemistry and other science and technology areas. I did this for example for the US-based Geochemical Society, which is an international scientific society that encourages the application of chemistry to problems of a geological or cosmological nature. I also wrote for a major global engineering firm (ARCADIS). Among other things, I spoke and e-mailed with people all over the world, on Skype and on location, and wrote about them and their work

I also spent five years in tourism and hospitality in Amsterdam and three years at a major law firm (Clifford Chance). In addition, I now have nearly two decades of experience with self-employment and small businesses from which I learned a lot as well. (I am a sole trader as well as a Company Director.) I was an extra for film and TV in Amsterdam, a volunteer in wild-bird rehab in Florida, and many things more.
