About Paul Fris

Paul Fris is an avid writer with Predestined being his first Science fiction/Fantasy work.
He has contributed articles and training programs to varied organisations and written reviews on motorcycle test rides and life experience articles for several websites.
The loss of his sixteen year old son from Cystic Fibrosis some years ago and the more recent loss of his much loved wife who finally succumbed after a two year battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer, has given him rare insights into the areas of grief, loss and dealing with some of life's major issues. These deep valleys in his life have also given him a unique ability to discern the moods of others and to understand the intricacies of human nature.
A keen hunter, tramper and motorcylist along with a knowledge of electronics, electricity and computer systems enable him to write his material from a position of practical experience evident in his novel "Predestined" and his latest book "Confessions of a Kiwi Motorcyclist."
"Predestined" is a work that may echo mankind's future on this planet and "Confessions of a Kiwi Motorcyclist" is a light hearted look into riding in New Zealand.

Read this book after my husband. This book is definitely a MUST read if you enjoy the science fiction/fantasy genre. From the very first chapter you are drawn into the story. Predestined is a well written book which is full of suspense and captivating.

The protagonist Marc is lurched into a world unknown to him, where he has to learn swiftly about the alien land he finds himself in, in order to survive. Despite the difficult circumstances and extraordinary but perilous environment, Marc feels a calling- a sense that he is where he is meant to be.

Marc also must choose to trust in a source much bigger than himself or any army if he is to triumph in the battle between good and evil and save the land of Astoria and its people. The tale comprises of technological advances, genetically spliced creatures, ecological issues, tyranny and slavery, to friendship and true love.

While the ending of this story leaves a space open for a sequel, it is a complete read in itself.

An engrossing sci-fi/fantasy tale of action and adventure. The plot has been well thought out and executed succinctly. I especially appreciated the attention to detail the characters expressed while setting out their plans in the book. The author created a rich and detailed world for the readers to explore full of interesting creatures, ideas and technology. Now I’m just waiting for the sequel to come out so I can see what the future holds. Looking forward to it!

This science fiction story is based on a lot on the writers hunting experiences, but combines hunting and sharpened reflexes with an out of this world planet journey. A journey that combines evil forces and creatures, future technology and transportation, romance, and best of all, an evil ruler threatening the very existence of the planet! This is an adventure, feel the exhilaration of the highs and the lows encountered, then come back down to earth!!
