Wondrously woven tales that bring to life elements of historical fiction and intertwines them with authentic voices. The result is a completely engaging read: always hopeful and heartening, and frequently illuminating and poignant.

The author provides story notes as an addendum which shed invaluable light on the historical references contained in much of the novel. I’m certain most readers will find these impactful and insightful.

Simmering underneath these storylines are an urgency that implores the reader to arm themselves with the knowledge and compassion to address the complications of migration. If you care anything at all about American history and migration, you will not be able to put this book down from beginning to end.
