Trevor Dunen grew up in the rural country town of Bacchus Marsh in Victoria, Australia. His father was killed when he was six years old in a car accident and his mother found it extremely difficult to make ends meet, trying to bring up three small boys all under six. Trevor saw terrible domestic violence as his mother was violently bashed in a bad relationship before Trevor was twelve years old. After completing High School Trevor became a graphic artist at the local Bacchus Marsh newspaper. This piqued his interest in writing and he has written ever since. After completing his degree in graphic design Trevor travelled Australia on a motorbike getting up to all sorts of adventures. He dabbled in the Melbourne and Perth underworld scene for a decade before turning his back on crime. He then became a working musicician, a singer/guitarist and has played all around Australia. Trevor was eventually diagnosed with bi-polar disorder while in jail for traffic offences and fine defaulting. He finally settled in Perth and had three children of his own. He wrote a play entitled "Sight Unseen" with famous artist/producer Tim Burns about the history of racisim against aborigines in York, Western Australia. The play received a $13,500 grant from the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art.
