After reading Bullshit and Assholes a mere forty page book that can be read in a fairly short time even for someone such as myself that reads very little. Ive got to say I found this book amazing.
The opening introduction left me in stitches laughing as it has the honesty and humour of George Carlin, or a Lenny Bruce. There is a raw and poignant exposure of what bullshit is and the assholes who perpetrate it.
Doug Plumb points out what is or should be obvious to a critical thinking society but because of our dumb down educational system as well as our arts and entertainment and television raising culture we lack the discernment to seperate true from false, reality from fantasy and consequently are easy prey to the assholes who spew nothing but bullshit.
Plumb points out that independent thinking is no longer encouraged and is even discouraged for the hive mind and social engeneering acceptable narrative that our masters have created for an enslavement of society to suit their needs.
Fake Religion and fake science are also touched on as Plumb with surgeon precision disects the phoniness that is often involved in these two all encompasing and thought provoking aspects of our lives.
Often weaving philosophers of the past into his narrative, it helps open an understanding of those philosophers that people like myself otherwise would not know.
I believe its the intent of Plumb to waken the intelect of our society to weed out the crap and heighten our own discernment which should be part of every school curriculim. So that we are no longer victims to the Bullshiters and Assholes in society! I see it as Truly a must read! Daniel Mullen
