About Coco d'Hont

Coco d’Hont is a creative writer, independent scholar, and health care professional. In 2018 Extreme States, her non-fiction book on transgressive American fiction, was published by Routledge / Taylor & Francis. Coco also writes academic articles on horror, gender, and popular culture.

An earlier version of Hell was shortlisted for the MsLexia Novella Prize 2018. Coco was also shortlisted for the Escalator Award Programme at the National Centre for Writing.

Originally hailing from The Netherlands, Coco now lives and works in Norwich, United Kingdom. When she is not writing she practices karate and visual arts.
