Very good. Instead of having a global perspective for the action which would dilute the story, the novel portrayed the story from the point of view of the two women. You live their lives with them as those lives are ruined, so you cheer for and feel sad about the ending at the same time. On top of that, a lot of the characters deal with what's influencing them, even if they aren't controlled outright. That made for an interesting story.

i liked this story. You feel for the characters. It's a science fiction story around the edges, but mostly its a human story. You get drawn into the lives of the two women.
