For health reasons, we became vegetarians over eleven years ago. The recipes you find in “Irene and Dick’s Vegetarian recipes” have become our favorites for taste and ease of preparation. These recipes call for ingredients common to most kitchen cupboards. Non-vegetarians can also enjoy these recipes. Those recipes calling for the basic recipe you can easily substitute hamburger or ground turkey. Three of our recipes, (nut burgers, Waldorf salad with broccoli and chocolate chip quesadilla) were featured in a national magazine. A woman made the nut burger featured, then called us for one of our cookbooks. She said her husband told her that he would never eat another hamburger. Our cranberry pudding, a holiday favorite, has been passed down from several generations.
