I'm a professional photographer and photography workshop guide/instructor. I conduct yearly workshops in the Teton Mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming (USA) and in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah (USA). In addition to group photography workshops, I conduct private 1-on-1 photography workshops.
During my photography workshops, I take my group out at night to photograph the MilkyWay and during these workshops I conduct three to four 4 hour Photoshop and Lightroom Milky Way post processing sessions so you may learn how to really make the Milky Way pop in your photos.
I'm the author of three ebooks 1) "Grand Teton National Park - A Photographer's Site Shooting Guide 1" 2) "Arches National Park - A Photographer's Site Shooting Guide I" and 3) "A Photographer's Milky Way Processing Guide - A Photoshop Howto," And given my June, 2015 trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I will complete my fourth ebook soon -- "Grand Teton National Park - A Photographer's Site Shooting Guide 2" which will have 70+ additional sites over and above my first ebook based on photography in Jackson Hole.
In these photography shooting guides, I make extensive use of Google satellite map marker where for each site in the ebook I have an associated photo. The reader simply clicks on any photo and the web browser immediately opens the webpage for the Google satellite map marker whereby the reader may easily see the exact site I stood for the photo but more importantly see the road system to the exact site.
In July 2013 I participated in the millennial celebration of the historic Moulton Barns in Jackson Hole, WY (USA) by donating two 24x36 inch canvas prints for auction for the preservation of these two barns.
Locally, in my current home town, I provide presentations of my Jackson Hole photos from time to time to the photography club and also instructions on the use of GND filters and Photoshop post processing.
Landscape Photography Magazine selected one of my photos of a sunrise on the Grand Teton among many photos submitted by numerous fine art photographers as the photo of the week ... http://landscapephotographymagazine.com/2014/hedricks-pond-overlook-jackson-hole-wyoming-usa/
In March 2016 my I lead a 4 night Milky Way night sky photography workshop in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. It was sold out within 2 months of posting it on Eventzilla. This workshop include one night of photographing the Milky Way over the Mittens in Monument Valley, Arizona.
In July 2016, I will be conducting a 4 day photography workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming from July 6-9, home of the beautiful Teton mountains. All workshops will include light painting various objects from numerous such as the historic Moulton barns and Mormon Row home and will include 3 nights of my Milky Way night sky photography workshop. On day 2-4, after the we finish our early morning photography, we will take a short break and meet up again for my 4 hour Photoshop Milky Way night sky post processing session. When you have a moment, check out a few of my Milky Way night sky photos at: www.flickr.com/photos/wrtrekker or on facebook at www.facebook.com/jerrytpatterson..
During my Milky Way photography workshops, I take my participants through optimal camera settings for capturing the Milky Way in the night sky. After everyone's camera settings were established, I take everyone through several Milky Way exposures tests with different light balance, ISO settings with varying exposures and I take them to different sites from night to night.

I am a fine art nature photographer. I'm planning a photography trip with a Colorado group to Jackson Hole in 2014. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Patterson in Colorado. He's a talented landscape and nature photographer. I found his book to be a fabulous informational guide. It's great for photographers seeking beautiful locations to shoot landscapes, the milky way, wildlife, wild flowers, and of course the famous teton mountains in Jackson Hole.
Best of luck Jerry, with your future photography adventures and tours!

We just returned from a trip to Jackson Hole where Jerry Patterson was our guide. We had a fabulous time photographing the Grand Teton's and all the various places Jerry took us to. Places we would have never visited because they are off the beaten track. Thanks Jerry for all of your photography expertise
and all the great places we visited! We are happily exhausted. Looking forward to touring with you again.

We are planning a trip to Jackson Hole this summer and I wanted to know the lay of the land beforehand. Jerry Patterson's book was indeed a wise investment. He covers so many great scenic sites and the directions, with Google Satellite maps! If you are into photography or even just wanting to see the beauty of Jackson Hole and the Tetons then this book is for you. He even knows great locations that aren't on other maps. Jerry covers safety issues like weather changes and wildlife. And some good places to chow down for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. I highly recommend this book to anyone planning a visit to JH. If you aren't planning a trip there buy the book anyway and once you've seen his photos you will want to go there! Thanks Jerry for a great resource.
