Briefer than his other books, this little gem is just as well written. Characters, portrayals of thoughts and emotions. Dialog, plot and actions. Public embarrassment, humiliation and degradation. Abuse of a young woman, abuse of authority tightly twisted together with sadomasochistic, exhibitionistic and voyeuristic sexuality. A socio-political critique as well, perhaps with a relatively unique capacity to stir devious arousal among those of us situated in different places on the political spectrum. But whatever, regardless, a good guilty pleasure.
