"I'm pretty suicidal for a zombie that doesn't want to die" - Doug

Dead Town is full of the undead. Where the undead live and the living come to Club Ju Ju in hopes of gaining immortality themselves. Be careful what you wish for. In the case of Simon he comes to the Club in hopes of finding his true love. Someone that he can spend eternity with. Instead his " true love" turns him into a zombie and a pawn in a plot to bring the End of Days. The Watch are suppose to be protectors in the balance of the living and the undead. Watching over The Gates to ensure they are never to be opened again and preventing the End of Days. Hungry with power they want to make a sacrifice to open The Gates, releasing destruction on the world. In hopes to become Gods and rule over everyone.

It is left up to Magnolia, a Voodoo Dust addict, Doug, a zombie afraid to die, but loathes eating brains to stay immortal, and Roadhouse, Club Ju Ju's bouncer, to stop the destruction that is about to be unleashed onto the Earth by the Masters of the Watch. They are not the most likely trio you would want to save both the human and undead race.

Mike Chinakos is a genius with words. He gives extremely vivid descriptions and lets you peek inside the thoughts of each characters heads. The story is completely captivating. I couldn't put it down. It has everything you could want in horror story. Action, suspense, rock star look a likes, vampires, shape shifters, and a sarcastic zombie you can't help but love. Out of all the books I have read this year and will read I know Dead Town will remain in my top five.
